Business Development Information and Services Program

Program Description

The AATDA US, in cooperation with our affiliate AATDA in Albania, has established a program to promote business investment and trade between the US and Albania, and services related to business development activity throughout Albania. The program, Business Development Information and Services (BDIS), is jointly operated by the two affiliates in the US and Albania. Drawing on the resources of both organizations, the program provides a comprehensive on-line service with the following components:

  1. Information on trade and investment leads in Albania

Leads, collected from our own sources, and those of AATDA AL that maintains a database of over 800 Albanian businesses, are published regularly on the AATDA web site, through its biweekly E-gram service to members, and in our newsletter, the Albanian-American Trade and Development Advisory. In addition, these leads will be shared with other similar services such as the Central and Eastern European Business Center of the U.S. Department of Commerce, the Global Technology Network maintained by the American Chamber of Commerce in Albania, and the SEETI service that has Balkan regional coverage. Secondly, AATDA publishes any leads from US firms wishing to do business in Albania.

On this website, check Trade & Investment Opportunities section for specific leads and information.

  2. Information on International Donor and Government Procurements

AATDA reviews and reports on all procurements being offered by international donor organizations such as the World Bank, IBRD and others whose procurements are open to US businesses, as well as tenders of the Albanian government. Summaries and reports on these procurements are regularly published, with due dates and contact information. These leads are disseminated in the same manner as the investment and trade leads.

On this website, check Procurement Opportunities section for specific leads and information.

  3. Match-Making Service. Through the coordination of our offices in the US and in Tirana, AATDA matchmaking services for business interests in the US and those in our data base in Albania, or upon request. Through this service, US businesses are provided contact information on prospective partners, or if requested, meetings will be arranged through AATDA AL at their offices in Tirana or on the Albanian business partner’s location, as appropriate.

  4. In-Country Services to Business Investors and Traders. AATDA AL will provide office support, translation services, make appointments, lodging reservations, and provide transportation and related services for business travelers needed such services throughout Albania. There will be a fee-for-service charge for these services.

While all services will be available for Albania, only the information services outlined above will be available for Kosovo and Macedonia. It is anticipated that the Match-Making and In-Country services will be extended to Kosovo at a later date.
