Kosovo Banks Expand Location and Services

The Governing Board of the Banking and Payment Authority (BPK) approved the creation of thirteen new bank branches throughout Kosovo. Among the banks that will expand is the USAID-funded American Bank of Kosovo (ABK). The seven banks operating in Kosovo will now have a total of 46 branches. In other banking news, the Micro-Enterprise Bank (MEB) inaugurated Kosovo's First ATM on April 3, 2002. MEB has promised its customers that credit cards will be available by September 2002.
