UPGRADING AND REPAIR OF WATER SUPPLY/SANITATION PROJECT

The International Development Agency (IDA) has extended a US $15 million credit for repairing and upgrading water and sanitation (sewer) networks in the Republic of Albania. Areas that will benefit are the towns of Durres (country's biggest port) Fier, Lezhe and the municipality of Saranda. Project also aims to introduce better management practices in day to day operations and long term planning for water/sewer networks. Project preparation is underway at the ministry with an environmental assessment category to be determined at a later time. US construction /environmental firms can get more details by contacting:
